Stena Weco – the joint venture between Stena Bulk and Weco – has embarked on the journey towards being the market-leading operator in the MR tanker segment.

 

Stena Bulk has nearly 20 years’ experience in the MR-segment with focus on petroleum products.

The company will also have access to the Group’s ten ultra-modern P-MAX tankers (65,000 dwt) with extreme shallow draft as and when they come free from charter. Weco, which is part of the privately owned shipping group Dannebrog, entered the joint venture as the market leader in transportation of special-type products such as palm oils, edible oils and caustic soda.

 

The new company Stena Weco becomes equally strong in petroleum products, edible oils and easy chemicals. We offer customers a fleet of more than 30 first-class vessels. The objective over the next couple of years is to build up an operation with more than 50 vessels.

 

With offices in Europe, Rungsted Denmark, USA, Houston and Singapore, the large and flexible MR fleet will have customer coverage 24/7 focusing on world wide requirements and servicing our customers.
